I signed up on my pc, used the Google log in option. When I download the app on my tablet, there is no option to log in using Google.
How do I use my subscription on Android, please don't say use the browser, as it terrible on a mobile browser.

Hi Brian,
The app is currently experiencing some issue, the only available option to you is going to be a browser. If you have a different device, we would recommend using that. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience while we get this fixed.
Is there a fix for this yet? I still can't log in on Android as well. About to cancel this app during the free trial if I can't even use it!

If you sign up with your Google account, then ironically you cannot log into the app on android.
The only people who can log into the app are the people who signed up with their email address, instead of their google account.
The advice I was given, to use the app in a web browser is just suboptimal. If you havent subscribed, then you could sign up with your email address, and subscribe, then you can use the app and the website, if you stick with your Google account you will not be able to use the app, period.
When my subscription is expired, im done. It not just that I cant use the app, its the poor customer service. There are solutions that could be implimented, GuitarTricks could confirm my Gmail Account Email address, set up an account for my gmail address, and transfer my remaining subscription to that account so I could use the app and website..................................but a short while after buying a year, I was told I could never use the android app................why would I continue with another years subscription?
I enjoy the content, but when the milk turns sour Im not the kind of idiot that oders a second glass of milk.

Hey — thanks for sharing your experience. Just wanted to clear up a couple things.
We don’t tell customers that the Android app is permanently unusable for Google sign-ups. There was a temporary app login issue that affected some users, and during that time we suggested using a browser as a workaround while it was being fixed. That issue has since been resolved.
If you’re still having trouble logging in or accessing the app, we’d really like to look into it with you. Please email us at admin@guitartricks.com so we can check your account and make sure everything is working as it should.
We definitely want you to be able to use both the app and the website, and if something isn’t working, we want to know so we can fix it.

Hi,
I’m going to have to respectfully contradict what you’ve written, and I’ll provide evidence to support it. I’ve included a few images, at the very bottom of this post there are a couple of of paragraphs that you should have a look at.
When I joined Guitar Tricks, I was on my PC and created my account by selecting the option shown in the red circle in the image below. For reference, the sign‑up page is located at the following URL.

There are no problems logging into the site on my PC, when I log in i select the option circled in red in the image below.

However when i atempt to log into the app on my Android Tablet of phone, I get the follwing screen.
I select "LOGIN" and now have the following screen.
You may have already spotted the problem, there is no option to

The app only allows login with an email and password, which I can’t use because my GuitarTricks account was created through “Sign Up with Google,” not with a standalone email‑and‑password login.

Attempting to sign with my gmail address and google password does not work.
I first reported this in July last year, and others have experienced the same issue. What’s concerning is that, despite acknowledging my post at the time, there doesn’t seem to have been any attempt to reproduce the problem or verify it with a test Google account. The assumption that it was either a tempoary issue with the app or potentially user error meant the underlying issue was not only never addressed, but GuitarTricks still remain unaware of the issue.
The Android app does not support “Log in with Google” for users who originally chose “Sign Up with Google.” This isn’t a temporary glitch—it’s a design limitation that prevents affected users from using the app at all.
I appreciate the offer to move this to email, but it’s important that this discussion remains public so new users understand that signing up with Google currently prevents them from using the Android app. This limitation has been known since last July but still hasn’t been resolved.
Under the circumstances, taking all of the above into consideration........................why would I take out another subscription? What can you do to potentiall change my view?

Thanks for the detailed explanation and for sharing the screenshots — that helps clarify what you’re seeing.
Just to clear up one point: the login issue I was referring to earlier is not the same as what you’re describing here. We were not aware of an issue with “Log in with Google” specifically on the Android app, as this hadn’t been reported to us before.
That said, there is a quick workaround if you’d like to continue using the app. We can reset your account password so you can bypass Google sign-in and log in using your email address and a standard password instead. Once that’s done, you should be able to log into the Android app without any issues.
If you’d like us to do that for you, please reach out to us at the email mentioned previously and we’ll take care of it right away.
We completely understand your hesitation about renewing given this experience. If you decide to give it another try, we’re happy to help make sure everything is working smoothly for you going forward — and if not, we appreciate you taking the time to share the feedback here, as it’s genuinely helpful.

I understand that the login issue you mentioned earlier was not the same as the one I was experiencing; I knew this back in July 2025. I also know that, prior to my post, you were not aware of the “Log in with Google” issue. The entire purpose of my July 2025 post was to inform you of that problem. I
From my post dated 11/06/2025:
“I signed up on my PC using the Google login option. When I downloaded the app on my tablet, there was no option to log in using Google.”
This above is not ambiguous. It is concise and clearly describes the issue: after signing up with the Google option, there was no way to log into the app using Google.
However, instead of reading my post and giving due consideration, the respondent jumped to the conclusion that I was referring to a different problem. This is, again, an issue on your end. There is a lesson here about not leaping to conclusions, asking clarifying questions, or attempting to replicate issues.
Seven months after my original post, I have essentially had to do Guitar Tricks job for them and replicate the problem myself in detail, because nobody at Guitar Tricks showed any interest in understanding let alone replicating the issue. Your closing comment which is essentially—“go on, give us another go, it will all be okay”—does not inspire confidence.
Your content is genuinely first-rate, but your customer service and aftercare are the complete opposite. Your quick workaround is too little too late.
I think we should draw this conversation to a close. There is nothing further to be gained on either side, we have irreconcilable differences of opinion.
