There is something that I notice when I do this exercise. I feel as if the high strings stand out more than the low strings. I understand that my index finger doesn't move so I know it will have somewhat of the same sound on the high strings. But I can't really hear the difference between the two notes. Is there any exercises recommended to make the high strings stand out less so I can hear the change in the notes?

Hello - thanks so much for your question! To hear the notes in the chord moving better, I suggest strumming on the lower parts of the chord only and avoiding strumming the B and high E string. Then, you'll really hear the notes that move. Once your ear gets in tune to the sound, try strumming the whole chord again and see if you can hear the difference. Hope this helps!
