And to go in to a sub topic, was anyone else kinda disappointed at Radiohead's OK Computer? I mean, yeah, its a great album, but it's hardly gonna change my life like a lot of people said it would. Sorry for ramblin and sorry if I bored you. Just needed to say something
U2's Achtung Baby! The most understood popular album ever????
I know this may seem a stupid post to a lot of people since U2 aren't classed as a real rock band since Edge doesn't use long solo's and ****, but U2's crowning acheivement, Achtung Baby, is a lot more disturbing and ambient than people would believe. I personally think Achtung Baby is the best album of all time. But I bet ya 75% of the people who listen to that album didn't know that the album is ultimatly about sinful sex and depression. The best rock track on the album, Until The End of The World is about Jesus and Judas having male orgy sex. It's a pretty disturbing song when you think about it, but a lot of people don't give it a chance because of the rep U2 get from magazines like NME and other "real rock magazines". I don't have anything against bands like Nirvana and GnR, but I really wish those fans would give bands like U2 a chance because they are a really good band, even if they have made eqaully **** stuff before.

I understand you argument man, totally. I feel the same way way about people who dislike Queen for ex. just ´cause Freddy was gay our ´cause they can´t really indetify theyr music style. Those guys were genius. R.E.S.P.E.C.T.!!!
U2 stuff is great but I have only heard the hit ones. Didn´t have time to dig my self in tehyr music that much but eventuelly.

Ive never been a huge fan of U2. being Irish Bonos constantly in the news for any small thing he does, no matter how annoying or boring so I guess Ive always had a distaste for him. Ive got the hits albums, dont listen much, the songs I like I have on minidisc.
Radiohead, dont know what you mean, OK Computers the only Radiohead album I have/like. I love it.
Queen, I like alot of the hits again but alot of it I cant stand, the high pitched vocal harmonies always dug at me and Brian Mays guitar tone pisses me off. They have loads of great songs tho, and all members wrote stuff, which is unusual for a rock band

I personally don't like Bono myself. But aside from that I think he is a musical genius and up there with the top 3 frontmen ever.
I agree about Queen. Those guys made some of the best songs ever and Freddie's voice was absolutely amazing. And Brian May is probably my first real guitar hero and is also one of the best air guitarists I know.

I was about to start a post on U" then saw this one!
My brother is into U" so over the years Ive heard the tunes in the background. Yesterday I pinched his Boston DVD and it blew me away. Songs like "Streets have no Names" and "With or without you" moved me like no other songs! REally emotive!
But then my guitar mind kicked in and i realised the band we getting a lot of outside help! It isnt a very LIVE show when the guitar parts arent live! A lot of the guitar stuff is pre-recorded!! Also theres other musicians playing under the stage! Hidden away!
I dont really like Queen, the backiung vocals are too cheesey and yeah brian mays guitar sound is so annoying! Like a kazoo!!

I feel it is my duty to somewhat defend them here.
U2 have only one prime guitarist. They usually use Bono for rhythm guitar in the studio and he is very talented. But when you are as enegertic as Bono then you don't always have time to play the guitar at live shows. So this kinda explains that. However, in saying this, Edge is a great guitarist and older U2 songs i.e Streets, With or Without You and I will follow are all played on the one guitar by Edge. But the bands new stuff, really does require more than one guitar and its not so much as a rhythm its more like two lead guitars.
BTW, if you liked Boston, check out Zoo TV, the ultimate rock show.
