That's true , everybody changes by time .
2 years and playing "far beyond the sun" is realy nice , considering that you can of course nail "any" easier stuff like metallica for instance.

this is my baby:

it's the greatest guitar i've ever played i can do anything on it.
To improve technique and of course trying to keep all as clean as possible. I know my own limits and speed limits and so on I never play anything I'm not capable of. That wouldn't make any sense. After three years of playing I tried to play everything as fast as possible and that sounded, I would say, like shit, and I didn't realize that if I'd play bit slower things than I was capable of playing then everything would sound much better.

I love Jackson guitars too , the best feeling I get from a guitar neck is what I get from Jacksons no matter of the dimensions , they always feel right.

Mine is a Soloist (strat shape) body style , 24 frets and a Floyd Rose tremolo.

Heh I have been playing classical for 8 years(in music scool) and electrical for a year and a half now. I always wanted to play electrical but my parents said that I need to learn classical first, so I started and was very good at it(I won several world-level competitions in duo with another guitarist) so it stuck for 8 years when I realized that I am playing more because of my paretnts than my self and let it go. It just didn't feel right anymore. Also I didn't want to play only other people's material and somehow apply my mentors dynamics to playing, instead of my own view on the piece. I became so frustrated that I didn't touch guitar for two years and now I play electrical again. I know my theorie(6 years of formal theorie lessons) but need to grip new techniques on electrical. So that's my story.

As for classical vs. electrical I think, that electrical offers a wider angle of different sounds and is maybe a little less complicated when trying to get a good tone than classical. Classical also doesn't have the speed of electrical(except linear pieces as spanish tremolo and arpeggios), and is limited on one octave only(only twelve frets).

well like i said earlier..everyone changes their perspective..right now on the electric..i only want to play classical songs like bach mozart and them for some reason.. im thinkin that i like classical alittle more bc its somthin new to me... it may have only a reach of one octave but u still can do a lot with that..more with thwo octaves..
u heard of that one guys with 8 strings and 33 frets? that would be a pain in the butt to play

I don't think I may study music academicaly for a four years full blown course , since I'm already in college studying electrical engineering.

But if I had some spare time after I graduate I may take some small advanced courses in "music theory" or I'll keep with books and stuff I get from the net as I always did.

i'm going to Northern Arizona University in (one of the most beautiful places) Flagstaff, Arizona. It's a small school and community, so i don't think there will be a huge amount of people who even know who Malmsteen and Becker are. :(

but it is a cool school and the teacher has one many international competitions so i think i will learn a lot.

I respect them both, but my favorite guitar player is Jason forever.
I think that Perpetual is better in everything than Rising force of any Yngwie's records,so...If you can play Serrana or Air you are on your guitar way, everything else technicly is a piece of cake.I can play 11 blue egyptians and the song is great and hard to play, but it's all very simple, but his sweeps are ****in' hard:),hello for everyone from Serbia

Jason Becker deserves everyones respect just for his passion and refusal to give in. (as does Mick Mars...although he got off a bit easier than Jason).

Yngwie is an amazing guitarist...but having read a few interviews, he sounds like a bit of a dick...kinda like Dave Mustaine then.

That kind of violates the point of asking whether you'd choose malmsteen or becker. Batio wasn't in the original 2 being compared. Just a thought.

Besides, we all know Shawn Lane was the fastest.
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.

I heard it was that Marcus Paus dude. Don't hold me to that though. I typically don't know what I'm talking about.
