yeah he plays with distortion but not all his non distorted stuff is sloppy..the classical pieces that he plays live are usualy good and clear sounding.. im not sure if its like that for everysong though

ive heard that frank gamble uses alot of arpeggios but ive actually never heard his music...were can i find some accurate jason becker tabs or does he have a tab book out?

To improve arp techniques , I suggest you take individual arps and practice them in every position/pattern you know.
Start with the basic major and minor arps.

yeah i practice them slow but i find playing 5 string arpeggios easier than the three string arpeggios..

BTW, 3 string sweeps should be the easiest , cuz you don't move your fretting hand so much like in 5 or 6 string sweeps.

i know they should be easy but they seem to be a bigger pain in the butt for my picking hand..i guess its just somthing u have to get used.. ive been trying the yngwie sweeps cause there supposed to be easy

ive tried the altitude sweeps and the the 5 string arps are easier but the 3 string are harder..thats the one thing i hate bout guitar is the 3 string arps..everything else is awesome

When you have a problem with a particular technique , overpractice it , give it some focusing , and you'll get it.
Probably 3-strings sweeps are easy to me cuz when I began sweeping I was 100% focusing on them.
Kirk Hammett's solo intro from "lepper messiah" & malmsteen diminished 3-string sweeps are good examples to practice... Those were the first sweeps I've ever learned.

My was Yngwies 3 str. sweep run part from a song called Demon Driver. The run is pretty cool and there are lots of different sweep shapes in that one. Never Day sweep part is nice too. 3 str. sweeps are pretty easy though. Chalange comes when it´s like 5 our 6 strings a la Jason Becker. Serrana is damn hard. I tried it once but hell no and besides I have only 22 frets.
Another cool Jason sweep run is the one from a song called Black Cat (Cacphany) Cool and possible. Sweep section from Jasons Opus Pocus is also one of few wich is possible to pull off.

was it was one dimished sweeps or just normal 3 strgin arpeggios.. so that was ur first and it ws pretty easy after awhile? i guess ill have to try it..is there a jason becker tab book?

I've never seen any tab books for Becker , and there are tons of wrong tabs online !

the bad thing about mysongbook is dont u need guitar pro..then from there u have to have the full version of guitar pro to print and that some $$.. i have some of the tabs for powertab editor that sound acurate but im not really sure if they are

"far beyond the sun" is my fav of Malmsteen's ... It's the first thing I've ever learned to him with "Black Star" .

i like black star but i thnk far beyond the sun is a better song..but thats just my opinion.. i can ply the majority of far beyond the sun..fun and challenging song.. ive never heared that other song sly mentioned..u ever hear his concerto suite??

concerto suite is one of his new albums (not exactly new) but its an orchestra of classical music with him as the lead guitarist..really good cd..do they still sell his first cd or would i have to order it offline
