Hi Mike,

I'm just playing 2 weeks now, but your guidance in this song made me addicted to playing the guitar. I've started with the chorus at half the speed and now I'm at .90 (almost full speed!).

But I've some questions because I don't know if it is advisable for someone in this early stage of playing the guitar.

- Couldn't I play the Em with the middle finger on the D-string and the ring finger on A-string, so switching to C is a lot easier (the ring finger only shifts 1 fret to the right and the index is placed on the B second fret).

- And is it preferable to play the pinky G instead of the normal G? I love the little transitions I than have to make.

Or would you advise a beginner to stick to the normal placements and start switching to other arrangements in a later stage?

Hi Tim, welcome and thanks for the question!!

Any adjustments you need to make with your fingering at this stage is encouraged!! I say do whatever you need to do to make the chords ring out and the changes more smooth. Once you have more playing experience and mobility around the fretboard, you'll find it easier and easier to use different fingerings that better suit any musical situation.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes!!
