Now let's come up with a verse part for our practice tune. For the verse we'll stick with our common-tone voicings and play E minor 7, Cadd9 and G.

Now let's practice this extra slowly with the metronome.

When forming the chords, including the ghost strums, does Anders' palm pad ever go flush against the back and\or bottom of the neck? When I use the thumb wrap technique I don't have as much of a gap from palm to guitar neck (esp the "pad" under the whole index finger). Also happens when playing thumb wrap F chord

Hey cswphotographs! I don't think the gap is ever completely closed. It's mostly my index finger touching and occasionally the base of my pinkie. But that probably comes down to hand size and shape more than anything. I wouldn't overthink it- just keep trying and taking breaks when it gets frustrating. Most likely your hands will eventually find a way! I hope that was helpful.

I am using the scale finder tool to practice the major scale patterns along with these lessons and would like to know when practicing the major scale should I start with learning note names first or scale degrees first.

Hi there - thanks so much for your question! Great job on working through the Scale Finder to practice scale patterns!! It doesn't matter whether you learn the note names or the scale degrees first -- both are important. The scale degrees are easier to memorize since they are fixed in the pattern no matter which key you play. The note names will change when you change the key. I suggest memorizing the scale degrees first, since that should be relatively quicker, then you can work on the note names as a longer term project. Hope this helps!!
