I just bought a used Crate GX30M Flexiwave. When I play the lower notes they buzz... I also hear a low noise when i turn on the distortian. Is there something wrong with the amp, or is this normal?

Guitar: Fender Standard Stratocaster
Amp: Crate GX-30M

The action on your guitar could be too low. Turn your amp off and play the notes on the lower frets and listen out for the string tingling off other fretts higher up, known as buzzing. This is beacuse your stringa are too close to the fret board. The trick is if you like a good low action is to lower is just below its pickups up by the amp.

It isn the guitar... its the amp... I dont know why but 4th, 5th, and 6th finger on low E all buzz. But only when the LOW dial is at anywhere above the 3 setting. Its not loose frets or bad strings...

I found out the problem... the box in the back... dont know what its called but, it was not scred down enough so when i hit low notes it vibrated... fixed it though.

Oh and BTW Crate is an excellent brand and for $100 I couldnt pass up a nice working 30 watt amp!

Your amp is the same amp I had as my first amp, but I quickly got rid of it. Mine came with the box loose and the input jack was warn out after 1 month.

Good on yer, mate! :)

I strongly advocate buying gear that happens to fit your needs and tastes, and **** the labels!
