I don't think my ideal amp is currently being manufactured anymore...

Here's what I want in an amp:

*Still manufactured (so I don't have to **** with people on eBay)

*Half-stack (yes it's important to me)

*$600-800 price range (no frickin mesas or AVTs!)

*At least 100w

*Don't give a **** about the clean channel (I don't know what a clean clean channel is, I've been using a Crate for a year)

*Simple distortion so I don't waste money on something I want to use a separately purchased pedal to control.

*EFX loop

*Preferably no built-in effects (except for maybe reverb), but I can live with them

*Decent cab that can support a heavy distortion.

I can't imagine why this is so difficult since the heaviest thing I play is Tool and by many standards that isn't heavy. No drop-A slipknot, no heavy-presence slayer, and I don't whine about not having crystal-clear clean.

I just want something I can feel a little more proud of than my Crate GFX-212T. I have a good guitar too ("Gibson Les Paul Special w/ humbuckers", aka, stripped down LP Studio), so that shouldn't stop me from being able to notice a difference.

Once again I'd like to stress that I'm a 15yo kid with no job and no parents who will buy me a bunch of expensive stuff. I don't have the money to spend on a Triple Rectifier, or believe me, I'd do it in a heartbeat (and even if I did, I'd have other things like college and a car to worry about once the cash reaches a certain level).

Please help me with this! I don't know where to look anymore!

IF YOU LIKE PANTERA'S SOUND U SHOULD LOOK INTO GETTING A RANDALL WARHEAD ITS 300 WATTS IT HAS EFFECTS BUILT IN. BUT THEY ARE REALLY GOOD ITS THE AMP THAT DIME BAG DARREL USES AND ITS ABOUT 800 FOR A HALF STACK, I BELIEVE. BUT NOT SURE U CAN PROBABLY GET IT CHEAPER ON EBAY. AND IT HAS A 8 BAND EQ TO I THINK OR A 6. GO TO THE RANDALL WEB SITE TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT IT

I think I will agree with the Ibanez half stack. Another idea ( if you act quickly ) is the Rhino Bad Boy 100 watt head. All tube, all attitude, and the head is under $500.00 right now at http://www.rhinoamps.com . Michael Angelo uses them, and they sound great. Couple that with a Beringer Angle Cab for $200.00 from http://www.musiciansfriend.com (until you can come up with the green for a really good cabinet) and you got a great start on an amp.
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?
