Hi everyone
I am sending my guitar back as it's cheap and sounds poor and now looking at buying the Yamaha C40 as it comes at a good price and highly rated, or the Yamaha F310 which also comes well recommended and as far as I am aware is for a left handed player like myself.
Please if you have any advice on which guitar would suit me better, and I am a beginner too would be most welcome before i commit to buying one.

Yamaha make quality instruments which represent outstanding value for money at any price point.
If you're left handed and want to play an [u]acoustic[/u] left handed, you need to buy a left handed model acoustic guitar. Neither of those two you rmention are suitable.
[u]Why?[/u]
It's not the case of simply reorientating the 6 strings in reverse order. Acoustic guitars are supplied preintonated with no available end user adjustment. Both the C40 and F310 have permanently glued wooden bridge saddle slots routed for right handed operation with their saddle slanted for intonation in right hand setup, so it's not simply a case of just removing and reversing the saddle and reorientating the strings if you want it to sound as the manufacturer intended.
In an acoustic, you need a guitar with its bridge cut and saddle orentated for left hand operation. TMK, Yamaha make neither the C40 or F310 in a left handed model?
[br]If Yamaha Musical Instruments have a weakness in their guitar lineup, that's it. As explained to me, it's because guitar sales represent a very small section of their business. They do much more trade in tech, keyboard and wind instruments. One can only surmise they've done their marketing research and made the decision so left handed players are left with limited offerings from Yamaha. e.g. Electrics. No left handed Revstars, and only a single model left handed Pacifica (112J).
Have a look at their website for your country and see what they offer in a left hand orientated versions. I doubt you'll find a left hander in any of the Gigmaker Packs. Good luck to you if you do.
Yamaha use an L suffix to denote their left handed models. Do a search of their website. You might turn up something in an entry level model. e.g. An e-acoustic. Go here and scroll 4th down to APX700IIL (L sufffix). [u]Edit.[/u] Yamaha appear to have deleted the left handed 112JL electric from availability in the USA. Still make it apparently, available to order in AU, and two colour choices now. All the best.
[br][u]Later[/u]. Came across this. Yamaha do do a left hander in the FG820 (Dreadnought in the same vein as the F310, but better with a solid spruce top and more generous 11mm string spacing. It's reasonably priced and [u]a very popular[/u] choice. Unfortunately, you'll often pay more for a left hander. Just how it is. As long as you're OK with a Dread, that acoustic will take you a long way.
