Okay, now that I responded to a few quotes, here is my list of tough songs I've learned over the years....

DT: Metropolis Pt. 1
Metallica: Damage inc. (keeping up with the tempo is the hardest thing for me)
Steve Vai: The Attitude Song
Check out my band:

I started over 30 yrs. ago, but haven't played much in the last 15. Not a metal-head, but would love to learn tapping like Van Halen. Just as a reference, I used to be able to pretty much play just about every note on DiMeola's first album. Hardest song for me is Clap by Steve Howe. Listnening to it over and over at speed, and the notes sound like a blur after awhile. I just started playing again, and I'm gonna REALLY try to learn Clap, especialy the live version towards the end. I guess I just have a lousy ear. Either I pick something up right away, or I get a mental block on some things.

The most difficult song i could be bothered learning is crossroads
by eric clapton and cream. However i am trying to learn paul gilberts colorado bulldog which i find extrmely hard, the start has massive stretches going from
2-7 going at lightnig speed . this one will take me a few month.

Pretty much everything people have listed is easy. Something by DreamTheater or Symphony X would be hard. Not too hard.

Yeah, I think that stuff is extremely difficult, because it is. Also, Steve Morse's "Tumeni Notes" is a pretty darn difficult song as well.
I want the bomb
I want the P-funk!

My band is better than yours...

Its not a hard song.. but the amount of people who say they can play it but just make a mess of it bugs me... the song is 'Sweet child o Mine'!

When I see them barre the frets for the infront I just wana get a pair of sissors and cut the strings of their guitar

Its meant to be played cleanly!!! It takes skill and good technique to accomplish that.

Damn straight, Axl. However, you hear many people who tend to mess up Sweet Child, but not that many that play Eugene's bad, although it's much harder. I'd say better musicians are characterised by knowing what they can do and not doing what they know they can't.
I used to play Eugene's, Trilogy Suite and alike for exercise, but when I play for fun or other people, the last thing on my mind is showing off my technique. Not many people care for that here in the Balkans, anyhow. I do, however, have spontaneous outbursts on occasions.
Impendance is fruitfull
while the buttons are circled.
