Hello all,
Anyone have thoughts or know about adult rock guitar camps or conferences? I'm looking for a place to spend a couple weeks and only focusing on learning rock guitar.
Thank you in advance for your responses.
Jon

Would be helpful to know where you live and what you want to spend. Only one that comes to the top of my head is Musicians Institutes summer course.

Thanx Hunter1801. I'm in Chicago and costs are not an issue; I'm looking for quality opportunity to spend my time being mindful of learning guitar for an extended period of time. I'm a university professor in psychology, so I'm off all summer to pursue my interests.

This came up in another thread a few months ago, and there was one that someone mentioned... also seems to be some on-line, but may be a bit pricey. I teach video production in that kind of immersion environment, one week & two week courses, and it works out quite well. I've wondered how well a "learning guitar" camp would be, as it seems likely you'd quickly get over-whelmed with stuff to practice... that's just my guess but is seems like most of the short-term programs are oriented towards putting bands together to play cover songs, rather than spend two weeks just focusing on learning the guitar. Maybe someone tried it, and people needed two weeks just to get down what was covered in day one?? I'd love to hear from someone who's been to one, or ideas for what an effective 1 week or two week course structure might look like. The film camp we do with adults is a blast... so much fun I can't believe I get payed to do it, but its only a few times a year.

Good link drf46... those rates are really reasonable. I'm tempted to take one of those courses myself!
