Hey,

I have been trying for quite some time, and have been trying to get some good Death Metal Sounds with my BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone Pedal for quite some time and can never seem to get the sound I am looking for. I'm not very experienced at amp and pedal settings but I sure have no problem playing :D

My Gear::
BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone Distortion Pedal
15 Watt Fender amp
Lotus Guitar which is an Ibanez Remake, has two single coils up top and 1 hum-bucker near the Bridge
--note I just have the Hum-bucker pickup turned on :D makes it super quiet under distortion, so its probably a decent pickup.

Type of sound I'm looking for?
sounds like this youtube.com video, link is located below::

My Settings::

Amp::
Volume-0.4
Gain-1
Master Volume-7.5
Trebble-6.5
Middle-3
Bass-10

BOSS MT-2
Level-slightly over halfway
Low-Max
High-12:00
Middle-Cut (as in not used)
Mid Freq-11:00
Distortion-Max

I would appreciate all Ideas or Tweaks to my settings, or any totally new settings you may have :D

Yea, you best bet is to check out the settings in the booklet. Also, try setting the knobs to the middle and work your way from there.

I've never been able to get a death metal sound out of the metal zone it's not meant for that it's geared more toward eighties hair-metal stuff. if you want Death metal a "death metal pedal" Digitech makes a good one for cheap.

I don't play much death metal, mostly hardcore/posthardcore.

But!

One of the things I've noticed is that when you turn up the low all the way, you get a really deep, bassy sound, but not much grit, too much high and and it's a mess of clicks and whistles.
