WH-1 vs WH-4 whammy
has anyone ever compared digitechs two whammy models, the original WH-1 and the newer WH4? i guess they no longer make the WH1 and cant because of copyright reasons, but from what i hear, no other will compare to the original. this is a problem because any used wh1 i can find will cost around $500. is there really that much of a quality difference?

nah there is no differnce. the wh1 was discoutinued and the wh4 was brought back.. the wh1 is just considered more of a keepsake now. like the old ibanez tube screamer. trhe original runs for over 400$

i have heard the wh1 had an electronic board that cant be made anymore because of copyrights, and ive seen many reviews that say the sound is superior also. its worth the extra money if it is as superior as people say, but im still not sure what to believe

I'm looking for Chinese sheet music scores. It would be great if someone could update this.

I've played both, and while the WH-1 does have a bit of a cult following, I don't think the difference justifies paying $500 unless you're specifically chasing that original sound. The WH-1 has a slightly grittier, more characterful tracking that some players prefer, especially for older rock and experimental tones.
The WH-4 is more reliable, easier to find, and works great for most applications. If you're using it for pitch-shifting effects in everyday playing, I'd save the money and go with the WH-4. The audience is very unlikely to notice the difference in a live mix. 1000 games
