I saw these guitars at Walmart. First Act. Wanted to know if anyone had experience with these. They are dirt cheap. Being a beginner myself I think that this might be a good start for me. Something I can beat the **** out of and not feel to guilty about it. I can get both an electric and an acoustic with all the paraphenalia for under 300 USD. I think it would be a good start but I'm not sure about the quality and what kind of action these have. I would upgrade once I started to get good.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Nick

go to a pawn shop.....even for a beginner first act is terrible.(not to mention wal-mart sucks) at a guitar store you can get a fender squier and a fender practice amp for about the same $$$ and it is much better.

Don't buy any guitar from WALMART!!! Don't buy a guitar from anywhere that has -Mart, Superstore, or a Food, and clothes section in it !! Always go to a music store for something. For a begginer I'd say maybe a squier electric pack, or a $99 Epiphone acoustic.

Don't buy First Act. If you want both, a low priced
Quality electric guitar and acoustic guitar for under $300 with all the Extras I would recommend these guitars:

Nothing Great but definetly better quality than First Act, I speak from experience(My Niece has one.)

Yeah I think First Act is a company built for 9-10 year olds with parents who are too lazy to go find something better.

This looks like the ticket!

however.........
Their amps tho only go up to 30 Watts! Hell I can buy a 100 Watt stereo for under a hundred. Why are they so expensive for such little power!

Doesn't make much sense to me.
Thank you for your patience ahead of time. I'm gettting old and ugly and want to get as good as I can in a hurry. I know I won't be great in a year or three but I got a good voice and just intend to play rythyms and a little harmonica maybe. Being as old as I am I should focus on what i do best which is singing. So I appreciate you guys speeding up the learning curve for me. After I get my new place I'm setting up my studio.

I even plan on making a cheap recording studio for local talent to get their music recorded. "Dirt Cheap Recordings, Inc." Got a nice ring to it!

"It's My go to guitar!"

hahaha the quote is an ad from "GuitarOne".

Amp are different that stereo equipment. A 100 watt tube amp will blow you out of your socks. A 100watt stereo isn't a big deal.
I have a 15watt Vox Pathfinder that will run you out of the room and a 65 watt Peavey Classic VTX 212 that will make your ears bleed.

A decent Squire will do okay if it is set-up. Go to a pawn shop and look, play. Ask them for their "Best Price" them give them an absurd lowball and show them cash. They will try to bargin then go up to your new low. If they don't take it-WALK. If they want the sell they will chase you down.

Pawn brokers are like used car dealers. They are slippery.
