As a recently jaded ebayer, I'd suggest bidding only on items which are close enough to you to go view.

I've just got an RG - unwrapped it to find the neck was broken. Hopefully, this is rare.... but it has put me off. First guitar I bought off ebay, and it's screwed! It was cheap though, so life goes on...
