Takamine guitars
I'm looking at guitars, acoustic/ electric. I saw a guitar i really liked but I wasn't sure about the name brand "Takamine". Is this a good name for guitars? The guitar was listed at $362.45. The series was a "Takamine G Series Guitars - EG540C-STCY".

And, yes, Takamine makes some nice acoustics.
Don't know about that particular one, but do some research on it.
E.g:

- What woods are used for the top, the sides, the back, the neck?
- Does it come with a mike inside it and a gain/EQ control box on the side?

Just my opinion but I have never cared for the sound of accoustics with maple backs and tops, much too boomy in the bass and bright on the treble, and in my experience a guitar that you don't like the sound of is not a bargain at any price, Takamine makes good guitars, you can probably find a dealer in your area, go play some in your price range and pick the best sounding one, there are alot of pretty guitars on the market and a manufacturer is just as happy to sell you a looker as they are a player.....

I'm not very fond of the low end Takemine, but the higher end models ($700+) are EXCELLENT.

I agree with pstring. I have this 12-string Takamine with flamed maple back and sides. I really like the sound of it, but it is somewhat thin sounding with the maple. I believe having the top maple as well, would just be too much. But hey, if you can find one to play, and you really like it, then go for it.
