Many guitarists are limited by the platform in which they play.I thinks its safe to say that tom plays to a mainstream audience that requires him to hold back his abilitys.
First, thanks for your thoughts. It's always interesting to discuss things like this.
For me, I don't see Tom as having that simple guitartechniques. I think he's good with what he's doing. It's not super fast and over the top as with many others. His sound is just awesome. Any others that are as innovative as him I should check out? In the same genre that is. Of course there are thousands of geniuses strumming this lovely instrument.
I wouldn't know if Tom has any pressure on his playing due to any mainstream stuff or whatever so I won't comment on that. I hope he doesn't feel that atleast. And, sadly, I haven't listened to Audioslave other than those singles they play on the radio. Maybe I should take a peak at it.
