Hey aaronyarden,

It can be hard to stay motivated when re-starting a journey. I wonder if it would be helpful to reflect back on previous “re-starts”, and see if you can identify what led you to begin to lose steam? What factors played in to you going from “re-start energy” to “oh well”.

There could be any number of factors. The nature of the space you practice in. The time of day. The way you go about using your practice time. Emotions and negative self-talk. Distractions. Goals, or lack of goals. Clear plans for your practice time, or lack of clear plans.

Maybe if you can put your finger on some things that have contributed to your losing energy for it after a re-start, you can figure out some new ways of approaching the re-start that will make those familiar rabbit holes less likely to trip you up.

Just a thought -
