the term techno is a big catch-all. it can range from simplistic rave stuff that came out in the late 80's and s***e Euro-trance with its predictable breakdowns and drum fills to polyrhythmic multi-layered tracks from groups like Orbital. some techno acts also sometimes feature real instruments.
