No, you can do it ... Self confidence will help you.
It usualy takes time , specialy if you're figuring out something for Becker or similar guitarists ... You come up with an idea , practice it up to tempo , compare with the record , you find you were wrong but you came closer ... And so on till you get it right.
Someday you'll be able to get it from the first attempt.

Your playability should be the same for both sitting & standing ... When standing you're even more free to move your self , your guitar , etc.
Perhaps you adjust your strap too low , I used to do so back in the old days (like James Hetfield , Slash , Jimi Page ,etc.) , but since I was into Vai,Malmsteen,Becker,etc. I had to raise the guitar a little bit up , I now wear it like Vai or a little lower.
There are no rules for strap adjustment with how tall you are , you just have to set it up so that your both hands are comfortably playing , specialy your fretting hand should be able to strech normaly and so.
