If you can get comfortable with playing lefty, why not?
Generally lefty guitars and parts are not manufactured in as high of a quantity as righthanded stuff. Not a make or break since mostly what you'll spend money is on strings. If you ever upgrade to another guitar, selection may not be as easy but in the age of the internet, much easier than years ago.
Another thing to consider, most lessons are by right handed guitarists so instead of doing what we naturally do, which is to emulate what we see, you have think about what you see on a video lesson is similar to looking in a mirror. Again, not make or break but something to consider.
I'm generally ambidextrious with a heavy favor to the right but some things I do better left handed such as billiars or when I've shot a rifle. It's mostly just a matter of being patient with both learning a new skill (and guitar does present some challenges just by itself) and doing so witha non-dominant hand.
It may seem like I'm almost discouraging doing so but I am absolutely not. You should do it. The above is so that when you are learning, you are more aware of what's going on and have the mindset that you just wanna play guiter, enjoy and not worry about those challenges so much when you come across them.
