Hey Danno, I can tell you this. I bought the Keith Urban Night Star Solid Body Electric and its a great guitar for a beginner. It came with a very low action which you will like once you get into playing chords and get calluses on your hands. Having said that, the DVD's that come with it, are not as good as taking the lessons in Guitar Tricks. My recommendation is buy the Keith Urban Night Star Electric for the value, and then use Guitar Tricks to learn. If you are at all concerned about the auto renew, you can buy yourself a gift certificate for 6 months of lessons, and that doesn't have a renew feature. My opinion is use Guitar Tricks to learn.
