*uhem* Anyway, you're right. To get to drop D, all you have to do is tune your low E string down to D. Play a D note on either your A or D string, and tune your E string down to match.

To get to drop C tuning, you first have to tune your entire guitar down a whole step. The best way to do this is with a tuner. Down a whole step, your strings would be (from low to high) D G C F A D. Once you've got that, tune your low D down another whole step to C.

You can do all this using relatives, but like I said, the best way is with a tuner.
