Another excellent and thought-provoking article from the pen of Hunter60! I'm not sure I agree that people's main worry these days is whether they can afford an I-pad - even in the developed West there's still plenty of deprivation, insecurity of unemployment, lack of health care, and problematic relationships these days. But this isn't the reason the blues lives on. As Hunter60 says, it's the blues 'feeling' (as relevant as ever) and it's incorporation into a wide range of musical formats. And many guitarists who have built a wide repertoire over many years return again and again to the blues music with which they started (e.g Eric Clapton's reworking of Robert Johnson).
