I enjoyed your writing and agreed with most of your point of view; however, as you said, any list is subjective. As far as "iconic" guitars goes, there are some country folks out there with them also - like the well-worn out acoustic of Willie Nelson. That thing has seen more songs than Columbia Records. Also, my perspective would have had to include Carlos Santana. Talk about a sweet and controlled sustain, listen to Europa. I'm a a real novice at the guitar and just picked it up a few months ago, but have been listening for..........well, a long long time.
