Perhaps this guitar isn't famous...at least not in the same sense as those above. But it certainly played the key role in a significant event in American popular music and pop culture in general...the Stratocaster played by Dylan at the Newport Folk Festival in '65. That's when Dylan dropped (at least partially) the image of the acoustic-playing protest singer and plugged in much to the chagrin of his current fans and folkies everywhere..
