"Crying" guitar

I've been playing for 30 years and I feel the same way. We can all get good eventually, but to cross that line and be an especially talented musician Takes something more than hard work and study. It takes "Talent". Although it is possible for all of us to be good. There are those who have a rare "Talent" I have no proof of this. But, what is it that makes a "Steven Via" a "S R Vaughn" a "Eddie Van Halen", a "Larry Carlon", a "Al DiMeola" a "Dajango Rienhardt." It has to be a special & natural Talent for the guitar. Maybe those rare talented one's were guitar players in a previous life. Some of these "special players" knew what they wanted to do before they could speak RTO :)

I agree with those who spoke of pinch harmonics. If we combine P.H. with pick attack, mixed with Vibrato. We can get that sound.RTO :)

Opps meant pinch. If you don't know, its when you pick a note and brush the string with your thumb at the same time. The lessons here really don't explain/show how to do it very well, but cyberfret.com has a pretty good lesson on it.

It's a pinch harmonic... then he rocks back on his trem to make it even higher pitched..... Takes practice to be able to stay in key...
