There are many ways to make your guitar "cry"; one of my favourites is to turn up the drive a little and use a volume pedal function. Play the note in question with the pedal all the way up, then slowly depress it to bring the note in. If you use plenty of vibrato, this will give the note a bit of a "weeping" feel.
