I dunno... forming an opinion on a musician and claiming that they're the best while also admitting that you've never seen him at his best (how could you if he never shows what he's got?) in the same sentence isn't exactly a winning line. I'm quick to support the ones that put everything they've got into all their songs even if it is a little bit boastful, at least they're giving me an exciting listen.

I'm going to compare musicianship to architecture while covering Tool in a nutshell. A building has width and height. In a metaphorical sense this is like a musician. When a musician learns something, their building grows taller and as they perfect what they know their building becomes wider and wider and the more they learn vs. the more they perfect determines just how wide and how tall their building gets. I'd have to credit Tool as being the pentagon of musicians. They're good at what they do, but they've left out so much ground to cover in music it's not funny.
