The worst part of this is that "Abstinance Only" education programs have consistantly been proven to yield higher rates of premarital sex, teenage pregnancies and STDs than Sex Ed cirriculums that fully explain the options people have. Last I checked, Lubbock, TX was pushing THREE TIMES the national averages for teen pregnancies and STDs; the situation was so out of hand that a group of high school students were taking it upon themselves to make sure they and their classmates got a more "progressive" Sex Ed program.

You know, I think principals are a good thing, but for Christ's sake, results are results and it's stupid to take a course of action based on principals that has been PROVEN to have a more detrimental effect to society compared to other available options.

Which is why I feel that as much as I personally disagree with most abortions, the social implications of outlawing it are far graver than giving women the right to choose. I think it's more important to work towards better education and an enviroment where women are less and less likely to be put into the situation where they have to choose.
