Studio Mode – Flick the Live/Studio switch to the Studio position, and you
get a pair of XLR balanced +4dBu outputs, as well as a pair of 1/4 inch
unbalanced -10dBV connections. Both carry the same signal – including the
A.I.R. processing for speaker/mic/room emulation – and you can use
whichever connections are most appropriate for interfacing with your
recording gear.

Live Mode – Move the Live/Studio switch to the Live position, and you get
independent signals on the 1/4 inch and XLR outputs:
• The 1/4 inch connections are now carrying your signal – without speaker/
mic/room simulation – to your on-stage power amp and cabinets. This lets
you drive your backline for a wall of stadium filling sound, or a more
modest power amp/cab setup for your personal on-stage pleasure.

To abstract:
In "live" mode all the mic/room/cab modeling is off
In "studio" mode all the mic/room/cab modeling is on

forgot about the "A.I.R." sim stuff.

I miss my ol' POD Pro now :( . I liked the tones from it alot better than the PODxt.

I haven't heard the PodXT in action yet however I figure it will only be a matter of time before the new "Wireless 192/32 bit super XP pod pro plus" comes out that is not compatible with any of there old kit.

Im more than happy with my podpro at the moment and I think the next thing on my "must have" list will be a Variax (after the chorus pedals and the G4 etc).

So much kit so little time / money !!

I suppose I should think about buying a house at some point.

Holy ****, I was right about something (the switch on the back bypasses the A.I.R. thing when in Live mode).

That's why I'm building a house right now........Figured I'd better get that out of the way so I can spend my left over money on more important things, like a Les Paul Classic and Flying V I've always wanted.

Hey, by the way, do any of you know a good synth software program. I'm looking to cover (well record) a version of Pink Floyd's Shine On You Crazy Diamond, and I need something to do the keyboard work. Any suggestions on something not too expensive?
